In a world-first for golf, Australia’s national open – the Australian Open – will feature the men’s, women’s and All Abilities events.

The new look Australian Open has received two exceptional outcomes with the commitment of ISPS HANDA as naming rights partner for the next three years and major champion Hannah Green committing to the historic mixed-gender Australian Open in Melbourne this year. Read the release.

The Championship will be held on the world-famous Melbourne Sandbelt from December 1-4, with Victoria Golf Club the primary host venue across all four days of the tournament and Kingston Heath Golf Club set to host play on the first two days.

In another first, the men’s Australian Open will be sanctioned on the DP World Tour which will put the Australian Open on the world stage, with the men’s event also featuring on the ISPS Handa Tour of Australasia. The event follows the Australian PGA Championship the week prior, kickstarting a massive summer of golf.

This year’s Australian Open will also feature the third edition of the Australian All Abilities Championship (AAAC), which assembles the top 12 players on the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD) from across the world supported by global partners EDGA, the International Golf Federation and newly formed G4D Tour.

The Australian Open will be the first national Open to be played by men and women on the same courses at the same time anywhere in the world, with 144 men and 144 women set to fight it out for equal prize money of minimum $3,400,000 AUD.
