Golf Australia has an extensive Victorian schedule of events for players of all ages and abilities. The below information provides guidance as to which may be the best events for you.

State Championships: Events generally for low handicap golfers including the Vic Amateur, Vic Junior Amateur and Junior Vic Open (for players under 18 years) and the Vic Senior Amateur (for players 55 years and over).

State Events: A range of events for golfers of all ages and abilities including the Vic Fourball, Vic Mid Amateur, Vic Sand Greens, Vic Country Championship, The Vic Par 3s, Vic Foursomes, Vic Family Championship and women’s events such as the Spring and Autumn Tournaments, Doris Chambers Cup, Silver Spoon and Royal Women’s Hospital 4BBB.

Rookie Series Events: These events provide the ideal steppingstone for those who have completed golf clinics and are looking to play events, or for established golfers transitioning into 18-hole competitions. Played over 9-holes, there are sections for boys and girls aged under 9, 12 and 16, with course distances controlled accordingly. No handicaps are required, and rules are relaxed.

Rookie Series Pitch n Putt Events: these events often form a child's first competition experience. Played over 9-holes on a pitch n putt course, there are sections for U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16 age groups. No handicaps are required, and rules are relaxed.

Junior Events: 18, 36 and 54-hole events for players aged under 18 years. Some events are conducted by Golf Australia, while others are club conducted. Players need to be a member of a golf club with a GA handicap. Many of these events count towards the Victorian Order of Merit (Geoff Ogilvy Trophy for boys and Future Champions for girls).

School Events: Golf Australia and School Sport Victoria conduct a range of events for primary and secondary school students. These events are selection events for the Primary and Secondary Schools State Teams.

Ivo Whitton and Susie Tolhurst Events: 18, 36 and 54-hole club events generally for low to mid-range handicap golfers of any age. These events count towards the Victorian Order of Merit (Ivo Whitton for men and Susie Tolhurst for women)

Senior Events: 18, 36 and 54-hole club events generally for low to mid-range handicap golfers aged 55 years and over. These events count towards the Victorian Senior Order of Merit (Doug Bachli for men and Women’s Senior Rankings for women)
